I took part in the 5-week Climate-KIC summer school programme on climate change entrepreneurship. The Journey is considered to be the world’s largest climate innovation summer school. The programme consisted of a number of lectures and workshops on team formation and teamwork, ideation, design thinking, customer surveying, prototyping, financial planning and life-cycle assessment, with the main focus being on developing a business plan on a climate-related business idea. Our team gathered around the common idea of tackling plastic pollution through single-use plastics prevention and reuse. Having identified the FMCG industry as one of the most problematic sectors, our group project focused on developing a delivery service for concentrated personal care and cleaning product refills so that the use of single-use plastic packaging and containers can be avoided. A detailed business plan was developed and presented in front of a jury at the end of the programme.
