  Discovered and confirmed in knockout mouse model that mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase, a major enzyme in alcohol metabolism, bioactivates nitroglycerin to generate nitric oxide. Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels and brings chest pain relief to the patients.
