As part of NYU’s delegation at the Model G20 hosted by American University in Washington, D.C, I took on the role of Germany’s Finance Minister. I successfully negotiated on behalf of Germany to promote multilateralism, debt transparency and sustainability, WTO reformation, as well as further research on the digitization of economies and research on crypto currencies. After three days of negotiations, the G20 delegations came to a consensus and drafted a communiqué, linked below. Furthermore, our German delegation drafted an Action Plan to detail how we plan on implementing the communiqué. Lastly, a crisis was simulated: a devastating typhoon in Shanghai. The delegations came together and drafted an action plan to tackle this crisis and mitigate its effects. Show less
