Driller, 2013 – 2019 For Transocean I currently manage a crew of more than 20 employees while directing all offshore drilling-related activities in the Gulf of Mexico and Black Sea. Some of my day-to-day responsibilities include the direct movement and operations of all drilling-related equipment including tubular positioning, rig operations, and working stuck pipe while maintaining reporting and records of tool specifications. Focusing on safety, I ensure that all firefighting and water rescue drills, exercises, and equipment are maintained regularly and my team is operating effectively. An accomplishment I’m proud of includes serving as a critical team member during Shell Oil Company’s first deepwater Managed Pressure Drilling operation. Assistant Driller, 2012 – 2013 Prior to my promotion to Driller, I directly assisted the driller by operating all equipment including the top drive system, mud bumps, BOP controls, well-killing operations, and mud circulation equipment. I monitored the roughneck work crews and executed daily QHSE drilling checks including derrick inspection and choke & kill manifold setup. Derrickman, 2012 As Derrickman I worked with the assistant drillers and held responsibility for rig floor operations, handling derrick tubulars, and maintaining and repairing the mud system as needed. I worked on the mud tanks and pumps and worked closely with the Driller and Assistant Driller to gain experience. My lengthy career at Transocean also includes the roles of Derrickman, Assistant Derrickman, Roughneck, and Roustabout. Show less
