I had the pleasure of meeting Zara during our time in the PlusEight pre-acellerator and she was an incredibly humble, well spoken and passionate advocate for her philanthropic work, with keen business acumen and a great eye for opportunities and a drive for growth, both personal and professional. I do hope we cross paths in the future!

I've had the genuine honour of knowing Zara Torre for more than 20 years, and during that time I've seen her develop her natural talent as a leader to become the dedicated, motivated and inspiring champion she is today, across varied disciplines and pursuits. She exemplifies servant leadership, which is reflected in her various roles from grass-roots university groups to prestigious professional appointments and board memberships at the Australian Dental Association (WA), the Australian Dental Health Foundation and Women in Dentistry, where she served as the head of the Healing Smiles programme. Zar sees deep value in people and has consistently demonstrated an ability to engage and execute against a plan. Her elevation of social enterprise, the non-profit and health care sector has seen her manage large scale international public health interventions to provide primary health care initiatives to thousands of people in Cambodia and India. She is comfortable and able to leverage international networks of colleagues and industry heads as well as work effectively as part of a tight local team. The care of the underprivileged has always been her primary motivator, which she realises through working towards pragmatic solutions to health care challenges. Zar grapples problems that terrify others. She multiplies her energy and value by rallying others in an inclusive and empowering way. Her dynamic yet disciplined character exemplifies a willingness to give back to community and she espouses this in any endeavour. I support Zar completely, and without reservation.

We are a charity and a fintech start-up, trying to make the world a better place. Small Change. Big Impact. We are Australia’s first mobile app that allows you to collectively micro-donate or round up your spare change and donate it via our digital app, to your charity of choice. The Difference is a collective of people and causes, committed to making the world a better place, together. Our Cause Collective. Radical Transparency. 100% Not For Profit Ethical Charities. * App based micro-donations - By itself, small change doesn’t feel like much. But when we all combine our small changes, we can positively impact thousands of lives. We’re able to harness the power of technology to make sustainable and powerful change across the world. * Power of the Collective - We’ve brought together some of Australia’s most passionate, ethical, and reputable social and charitable organisations, so you can easily select the ones that mean the most to you. * Our Causes - We support causes in 5 key areas, including, health, education, poverty, women and children and the environment. * 100% Not For Profit – We don’t take profit, we’re not in it for our cut. All microdonations go to the charity of your choice, less transaction fees and processing costs. * Ethical Charities - We carefully vet our partner charities to ensure they provide the greatest impact with donations raised. Our partners at a minimum invest 80c of each dollar $1 being used for projects, have proportionately low overhead costs, report on their Impact measurement and address issues affecting the community. Plus, it’s all fully tax deductible. * Radically Transparent - Track where your micro-donations go and the impact they make in the community, via the Difference app. * Encrypted & Secure - Protected by SSL technology and the likes of Paypal’s gateway Braintree, your information is always safe and secure. #makechange #thedifference #smallchangebigimpact Show less
