Bio
Shane Carey FRSA
Working with Boundary Pictures has been a joy - they successfully delivered everything I needed and more in a complex delivery environment, multiple school broadcasting! I've worked with a number of production companies, but Zan and Scott in Boundary understood what we needed on a deep level, and went above and beyond the boundaries (forgive the pun). Our delivery was successful as a result, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Gloria Abramoff
Zan is smart, creative, tactful, tenacious and capable. She is a brilliant film maker/story teller and a joy to work with.
Jacqueline Smith
Zan is a great all-rounder - a very capable producer and shoot-editor who can take a brief and really deliver it, even in challenging circumstances. She has the initiative and perseverance to make things happen, she immediately grasps the editorial needs of a project, and has a sound knowledge of camera and editing technologies. In short - if a piece of work is in Zan's hands, I have peace of mind!

Working closely with BAFTA award-winning Roger Graef, this role included meeting regularly with commissioning editors from all the major broadcasters, devising and writing up programme ideas, and directing / making promos. During this time I was particularly proud to negotiate access and secure a commission for a This World (BBC1) on a Sharia court in Nigeria. Director of Participatory Video Project
-
Jun 2003 - Aug 2003
I was one of the directors of the 'Child of Bethlehem' project, doing the bulk of the fund-raising and designing the video aspect of the project, which later became an award-winning film. Working in the West Bank, Palestine, we taught a group of children (9-14) documentary skills and worked with them to make a series of 3-minute participatory films about moments of happiness in their lives. I conceived the idea, co-directed with Stuart Bamforth, produced and field-edited this film. The Oxford Channel was a new, local Terrestrial channel set up by Thomas Harding (Undercurrents). Some of the senior staff were ex-BBC and I received quality training on the job as a multi-skiller shooting in the new medium of DV. Among other roles, I devised and produced the Arts show, edited for the daily live magazine show, and trained up interns in production skills. It was sort of like the 'Press Gang' except for TV!
