  As a Senior Engineer in Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, my focus areas comprised the development of new facilities and maintenance of existing ones. As a head of the Engineerng Section, I remained involved in ○ Developing proposals for the construction of new educational, research and support facilities and also maintenance of existing ones ○ Preparing engineering documents (e.g., specifications, cost estimates, tender and contract documents), ○ Evaluating and shortlisting bids submitted by the Contractors○ Checking and approving the construction schedules prepared and submitted by the contractors○ Reviewing structural drawings for compliance with Pakistan Building Code 2008○ Supervising and checking all aspects of construction and maintenance projects for compliance with approved design and completion as per approved schedule ○ Processing bills of payment submitted by the contractors and communicating with the funding authorities for updates on project progress and subsequent release of funds○ Delegating tasks to Junior Engineers for better performance and prompt control for ongoing projects○ Training/Coaching Junior Engineers on technical and administrative matters ○ Complete most of the projects within approved scope and budget constraints and with satisfaction of project sponsors and/or owners

  As a Structural Engineer at Sunbelt Architecture, I remained involved in all aspects of the structural engineering of residential, institutional and commercial concrete and steel buildings for gravity, wind and earthquake loads including- Structural analysis (static, response or dynamic) by employing 3D models in SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE- Structural design and detailing in compliance with the prevailing codes (UBC97 Code and AISC 7-02)- Suggesting modifications, if any, in the design for achieving a more economical yet safe design especially with regard to earthquake forces- Preparing cost estimates, design specifications & tender documents of the civil works - Explaining different aspects of structural design and detailing to the contractor for ensuring code-compliant construction - Performing field visits to supervise different stages of construction and ensure compliance with the approved designAs a structural engineer, I also actively participated in a number of projects involving non-destructive testing and evaluation of buildings and bridges

  As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, I remained actively involved in the teaching and research actitvities in the class rooms and laboratories of the Department. During my tenure as Assistant Professor, I taught the subjects of Construction Management, Reinforced Concrete Design I & II, Structural Design & Drawing, and Steel Structures to the Third and Final Year students of Bachelor of Engineering programme and made extensive use of laboratory equipments and computing resources to facilitate experiential learning and reinforce various research techniques. I also contributed significantly towards the development of laboratory procedures and guidelines for material testing focusing compliance with engineering and safety standards. Moreover, I provided guidance (one-on-one and group) to students regarding academics (course selection, improving and maintaining performance) and career path development. I also designed and delivered short courses on computer applications in structural analysis and design to the students and practising engineers.

  As a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, I taught the subjects of Engineering Mechanics, Surveying, and Quantity Surveying & Costing to the students of Bachelor of Engineering programme. I made extensive use of laboratory equipments and computing resources to facilitate experiential learning and reinforce various research techniques. I also contributed significantly towards the development of laboratory procedures and guidelines for material testing focusing compliance with engineering and safety standards. Moreover, I provided guidance (one-on-one and group) to students regarding academics (course selection, improving and maintaining performance) and career path development.
