Successfully gained a competitive place on PWC’s Business Insight Week during Year 12 of secondary school, which inspired me greatly. Most notably, I assisted in the evaluation of the flagship “Leave no Girl Behind” programme, established to promote educational development of marginalized girls in Africa and the Middle East. I played an active part in reviewing proposals for government funding which has led to my interest in International Development. This role involved a steep learning curve about metal commodity trading on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and the financial instruments used by Razno to develop trading strategies. I was required to research future economic and trading projections with potential implications on the LME with a view to understanding the potential risks to the firm’s profitability. I have applied these research skills at university many times and feel I am competent in this field. Part of a busy sales department in a multi-disciplinary team to monitor and bolster the network of Primesight’s billboard advertising space across London, ensuring they were fully operational and profitable. Attention to detail was essential in this role as faulty billboards had a negative impact on the company and its brand. I was able to enhance my decision-making skills and to make choices quickly under pressure. Effective communication and influencing skills were needed in order to reach consensus about the appropriate course of action.
