Alloy5 Architecture is an innovative architecture firm that prides itself on its unique approach to design and technology. As an Architectural Designer at Alloy5, I have the freedom and space to effectively work on a variety of projects, from concept design to construction. The firm's commitment to exploring new technologies and materials in design and construction is evident in its portfolio. Alloy5 has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from residential and commercial to cultural and educational spaces. My role as a Prototyping Specialist involves designing, rendering, and fabricating models using various techniques and materials. I also share my knowledge and experience with my colleagues, teaching and standardizing fabrication and digital modeling so that the team can better communicate their designs physically. Working in this fast-paced and dynamic environment, I am able to take designs from schematic all the way through to construction, contributing to the successful completion of several high-profile projects. Alloy5's dedication to innovation and sustainability aligns with my personal values and passion for design. Our approach is highly collaborative, working closely with clients and stakeholders to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful. Whether working on concept design or construction documentation, I was always encouraged to voice my ideas and opinions. This collaborative environment not only enhanced the quality of our work, but also provided an opportunity for personal and professional growth. As an intern during my undergraduate studies and now as a professional, I have had the privilege to witness the firm's growth and impact on the industry. My experience at Alloy5 has not only allowed me to develop my skills in design and fabrication, but has also given me the opportunity to work on projects that have a positive impact on the community. As a Fabricator and Teacher at the Consortium for Research and Robotics, I had the opportunity to work with industrial robotics and develop my skills in both advanced manufacturing and education. The Consortium is a unique organization that combines education and industry for technology-driven research, small business incubation, and STEM programs that invest in the local community. The Consortium's ecosystem revolves around New York City's largest industrial robot and presents a model for collaboration, competition, and creativity. The organization challenges the traditional notion of robots performing repetitive tasks that are “dull, dirty, and dangerous.” Instead, the Consortium engages designers, engineers, researchers, and artists in a new experimental paradigm that is equal parts digital and physical. During my time at the Consortium, I had the opportunity to choreograph 6-axis robotic arms for a wide range of applications. I also taught extracurricular STEM courses to local grade school students, sharing my knowledge and passion for robotics and digital fabrication. Collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, I contributed to the development of experimental projects that pushed the boundaries of what is possible with robotics. My experience at the Consortium for Research and Robotics gave me the opportunity to hone my skills as a Fabricator and Teacher and develop a deep understanding of the potential of technology-driven research and collaboration. The organization's focus on community investment and education aligns with my personal values and passion for innovation. Show less
