I work in the Pilot Plant at Afton Chemical. I have a number of responsibilities including assisting in making batches of oil components, keeping a detailed log of how each batch was conducted, and keeping the inventory up to data. I have managed several continuous improvement projects in the unit to allow for increased capabilities of production. I am leading a 5S initiative to clean, organize, optimize, and sustain the manufacturing area. I've lead job safety analysis, potential problem analysis, and potential hazard analysis for various projects.

As a student at Missouri University of Science and Technology I have taken on a very difficult class load that will help me in the future as a Chemical Engineer. The experience that I have gained through my course work and my Internships over the past few years has prepared me to go get a job as soon as I graduate in December 2014. I worked on a few projects with professional engineers. Mainly I worked to obtain an ammonia scrubber for a certain area of the Plant. I worked with vendors and other engineers to appropriately size and price the scrubber. I also helped re-organize the equipment database for the company.
