SELC Language College is striving to become the top choice for language schools in Canada. Being a Campus Manager requires me to take on many different roles. However, my main role is to ensure that the Language College runs smoothly and efficiently from three aspects: Students, Instructors, Management.- Students: Leading weekly orientations; establishing rapport; creating a campus which encourages interaction and learning- Instructors: Hiring, training, and developing instructors to provide enjoyable yet engaging classes; conducting observations and performance reviews; leading professional development workshops; designing and developing curriculum- Management: Responding to and resolving issues; classroom arranging; acquiring equipment and supplies; maintaining overall campus; planning, budgeting, and liaising between departments; corresponding with third-parties

I teach international students ranging from high school students to career and business adults. Teaching is done in-person as well as via Zoom, using a paperless and online learning platform through Pearson English.Lessons are taught using e-textbooks including other online resources. I utilize various activities to engage students and to foster relationships among students who are both online and in-person. Our school focuses on active learning, with emphasis on public speaking and group discussions. As such, students are able to attend classes during quarantine in Vancouver and in their home countries while feeling just as involved online as in a classroom.

I taught international students ranging from university students to career and business adults. As a teacher at CCEL, I utilized a unique online and paperless curriculum called SMRT, where students have access to learning material on their smart phones and laptops. Lessons were later moved seamlessly from in-class to online during the Covid-19 lockdown. I teach wherever was needed, whether it was a Lower Intermediate class to an Advanced level class. These classes ranged from 6-12 students. My responsibility touched on all areas of English skills: Reading, Speaking, Writing, Listening, Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, as well as providing knowledge of Canadian culture and everyday language.
