  After only a few months I was promoted due to a role opening up and impressing my superiors.I was promoted to a network manager and based at a large secondary school in Slough where I am in charge of all the infrastructure of the IT, giving me choices over what needs to be upgraded, when and why. I have had to create plans for 3 years at a time to better look over what needs to be done.I have also had a junior technician employed by the school that I would work with and distribute different jobs to. Through this I have learnt very important leadership skills that have helped with teaching me how to have authority over others when needed.I have also learnt very important phone skills as many staff members will call at any point if there is something urgent needed to be done now.   After a successful first year at the school I was promoted to On-Site Technician where I had a mixed role of being based at a large primary school in Newbury from 8am-12pm and then doing a mixture of helpdesk assistance and network installations at different sites around the reading area.I learned very quickly about how to best install new networked switches and access points into different sites and about completing a patch panel without mistake.

  After finishing school I went straight into working as a junior technician for Tri Computers where I was based at a large secondary school in Crowthorne during term times and at our office for the other times.At the school I would learn about the whole infrastructure and how to diagnose any problems whilst also working under the network manager at the time who taught me much of my basic knowledge.I would also work with teachers and other members of staff who do not always have the best knowledge of IT so I have learned the best way to help them.
