  Dissect and isolate human lung airway epithelial cells, microvascular endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and alveolar type II cells from primary tissue. Characterize human lung alveolar type II cells for the purpose of high efficiency ex vivo culture and distribution. Utilize immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and colony formation assays to accomplish my studies on distal airway epithelial cells. Focus on stem cell-like and progenitor properties of human lung cells.

  Using flow cytometry and immunofluorescence, studied the relationship of Hepatitis C infection on the hedgehog pathway in liver cell lines. Purified Hepatitis C virus from plasmid and infected cells for study.
