I was an intern on Bright Network’s Public Sector, Policy and Charity Internship Experience, hearing from influential companies and employers such as the Civil Service, PwC and Vodafone. I was especially proud to be selected for the VIP Top 50 Experience, which selected the 50 most engaged participants on the experience to have a networking and Q&A session with the Head of the Civil Service’s Recruitment Team. Finally, I completed a Civil Service work sample which involved me writing a report and a speech for a fictitious new initiative regarding mental health support accessibility, presenting challenges such as the management of a 5-person team and Stakeholder interaction. My main roles throughout the year were: - general TA work within KS4 classrooms - focused mentoring sessions with specific Year 10 students - leading intervention and drop-in sessions with Year 11 students after school - working with a wide range of disadvantaged students to provide crucial support in order to aid them in succeeding within a school environment - undertaking vital safeguarding training within my first week of the job; this was then developed on even further in the following months, with an online safeguarding conference led by Hertfordshire County Council - liaising with the sixth form department to provide help with the incumbent Head team, using my knowledge and experience as Deputy Head Boy of the school for the previous year.
