Research Responsibilities Project: Developing Singapore's Environmental Guideline for the Utilization of Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Bottom Ash in Land Reclamation Collaborator: NEA Role: Project lead (2014 - 2015) - Led a team of 5 people on a S$3 million project was funded by NEA - Researched on the leaching behaviour of Singapore’s IBA to develop the first environmental guideline - Managed the budget and ensured timely deliverables - Analysed data and translated into a preliminary environmental guideline Project: Consultancy Services for the Development of an Incineration Bottom Ash Recycling Plant based on the Design-Build-Own-Operate (DBOO) Scheme Collaborator: AECOM Role: Project lead (2010 - 2011) - Led a 1 year collaboration with AECOM to conduct the characterization of Singapore’s IBA - Identified the suitable characterization tests to carry out, analysed and reported the results - Worked closely with AECOM whom conducted a cost benefit analysis study on IBA recycling for NEA General Responsibilities - Assisted in the setting up of new laboratory for the research centre - Identified areas of potential research in the solid waste industry - Wrote research proposals to seek government funding - Planned and executed research in various solid waste - Engaged potential industrial collaborators and other universities through seminars, workshops and exhibitions - Assisted in procurement of laboratory equipment and consumables - Trained new users how to use analytical equipment such as TC/TN, IC, ICP-OES, FTIR etc. - Carried out simple maintenance and trouble shooting of analytical equipment Show less
