Sales Associate

Mar 2014 - Jul 2017
The Home Depot is a great place to work. I enjoy going to work everyday with my extended family. I am a Sales Associate of the Garden Department, and everyday, I help people solve there issues or help them come to some sort of conclusion about their yard or landscaping Ideas. In the first 6months of being an associate at Home Depot, I received 2 Homer Awards and was the Sales Associate of the month. I take pride those awards because all three of them were given to be based on my hard work and extraordinary customer service. There is more to coming to work, stocking shelves, and filling a customers shopping cart. I go beyond that by allowing myself to understand the project that the customer is working on, so that I may better understand their needs. Once I have a better understanding, then I am able to move forward in suggesting items for the customer based on their needs, desires, and budget. I am a firm believer that helping people with allow you to go further in life. Show less

Assistant Manager

Jul 2010 - Sep 2014
At Walgreens, I was the Shift Lead. It was my duty to act as a liaison between the Store Manager and store associates, complete daily tasks as assigned, complete store open and closing procedures, and more importantly assist customers. Walgreens was a great place to work, I loved my job because I was once again put in a position to help people. The small things, such as, helping an elderly lady read a label because she forgot her eyeglasses, brought joy to my day. Eventually, I became the Overnight Shift Lead at Walgreens, although there was less traffic in the store during the overnight, I still went to work with the same integrity. I knew that it was my responsibility to make sure the store was in great condition for the next day. My crew and I would work all night facing the store, stocking shelves, and cleaning up for the next days traffic. A clean store, gives great customer service because it allows customers to find what they need easily. Because there was less traffic in the store overnight, we were still able to do our duties, while still providing great customer service to the customers that did visit us overnight. Show less

Lead Sales Associate

Oct 2013 - Jul 2014
At Dollar General, I had the opportunity to do what I love, and that is helping people. As the Lead Sales Associate, it was my duty to act as the Manager on Duty, when there was no manager in store. My duties would range from training employees and assisting them with various procedures, helping customers find items that they needed in the store, making bank deposits, counting down registers, performing store open/close procedures, and even stocking shelves. When I started working at Dollar General, it was a brand new store to the neighborhood in North St. Louis city, within months of our existence, the local grocery store across the street had closed down, which left a lot of our customers coming to us for more of their groceries, so I it was imperative to understand customer needs. It was important to communicate with customers and management so that we would have the inventory needed to keep our current and new customers coming back. Show less

Retention Specialist
-
Apr 2010 - Jun 2012
As a Retention Specialist at Convergys, it was my duty to help customers resolve their issues over the telephone. The location that I worked at was an inbound call center, and AT&T was our client. Our customers would call in because they were having an issue with their AT&T wireless service and were considering cancelling service. As a Retention Specialist, it was my duty to resolve the customer issue, overcome objections, and retain the customer as a client with AT&T. Once again, I was put in the situation where I am able to help people. A customer may have wanted to cancel their service because they didn't think a certain function on their phone worked properly, but in reality, maybe they misread the hand book, so I had no problems with trouble shooting, reading manuals, or helping them in any way that I was able to. With the proper tools and resources given to us by the company, we where able to help our customers. give them a resolution, and keep their business. Show less
