It's rare that you come across the combination of strong leadership and exceptional financial insights, but this is exactly what Yves Berlize combines. I've been a colleague of him at Sanoma Belgium for almost 10 years. Initially Yves was, among other duties, the CFO of the magazine Humo and as its business manager I was impressed by his deep understanding of the media industry, which made him a tough challenger of our business plans, always stressing the bottomline. Later I had the pleasure of reporting to Yves when he was Humo's CEO - although the company was in a process of divestment he never stopped encouraging innovation and digital transition to create shareholders value.
