  Indigenous Education is Canada’s Future Growth About Indspire Indspire is an Indigenous-led registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people for the long term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada. Our vision is to enrich Canada through Indigenous education and by inspiring achievement. In partnership with Indigenous, private and public sector stakeholders, Indspire educates, connects and invests in Indigenous people so they will achieve their highest potential. Indspire is led by Indigenous people for Indigenous people. We serve First Nation, Inuit, and Métis students in remote communities and urban centres across Canada. With the support of our funding partners, we disburse financial awards, deliver programs, and share resources with the goal of closing the gap in Indigenous education. Indspire’s K-12 Institute is a virtual resource centre that serves educators, communities, and other stakeholders who are committed to improving kindergarten to grade 12 success for Indigenous youth. In 2015-16, Indspire awarded over $12.2 million through 3,792 scholarships and bursaries to Indigenous students across Canada. Each year, we present the Indspire Awards, a nationally broadcast celebration of the successes achieved by Indigenous people.

  The Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society (PLEO) seeks to ensure that the non-profit sector and low-income artists and arts organizations are informed about and empowered to exercise their legal rights and responsibilities under the laws which govern their activities. Vital to the healthy functioning of our social, economic, cultural, and environmental systems, non-profits are collectively larger than forestry in their contribution to British Columbia’s GDP. Yet most non-profits are relatively small and do not have a pro-active relationship with the laws that govern them, or the resources to access legal services. PLEO seeks to address this shortfall in knowledge and access through a number of programs administered through its two initiatives, Artists’ Legal Outreach (ALO) and and Law For Non-Profits (LFNP).

  ALO is a group of volunteer lawyers and law students committed to working with artists and arts organizations. ALO offers resources, workshops and clinics where artists across BC can meet confidentially with an experienced lawyer. Every artistic discipline is welcome. Since 2005 the ALO has provided advice to more than 300 artists in all disciplines. ALO is the only clinic providing ongoing information and education to artists and arts organizations across BC. ALO's workshops on copyright and estate planning for artists have been presented across BC to ore than 1000 people.
