Research Assistant at Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics, University of Nottingham Ningbo Supervisor: Prof. Tom Lane, Project 1 Research on Implicit Discrimination  Applied Python crawler to capture 7,500 emails from restaurants in the UK, exported results as an Excel file to test hypotheses.  Used different virtual mail signatures, such as male/female names, and white/non-white names, to email restaurants for advance table reservations, assumed that negative responses/non-responses are regarded as discrimination, and studied the phenomenon of discrimination in the sample restaurants. Project 2 A Study of Information Asymmetry in Job Interview Opportunities  Hypothesis: The job applicants' university grades are divided into First-, Second- and Third-class Levels. Assuming that there was no obvious preference for employers in the job search process, job seekers who voluntarily disclose third class grades and those who choose not to disclose grades get the same number of job opportunities.  Test: Used Python to send mass emails via Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, including 1500 job search emails with 10 samples.  Result: Collected the admission results that displayed 40% of applicants who took the initiative to explain that their third-class degree were rejected, and 60% of applicants who did not disclose their grade information were offered job opportunities.
