I was supposed to go to France and act as the representative of the city government, but I was forced to come back for reasons. The post which was ready for me was the one that I’ve been so familiar with.

CLAIR is an organisation that is made up of local authorities across Japan and specialised in dealing with International affairs like Sister City relations, JET programme, overseas promotion, etc. I worked at CLAIR Tokyo headquarters for just 1 year, taking care of French matters mainly with my British colleague. In the office, there were colleagues from many different countries, so I literally experienced a multicultural work environment with talented people. I went to a French language school for 12 months. • Mayors' Secretary (Secion Manager)
      • Apr 2014 - Mar 2017

As a secretary of the mayor of Bizen City, I experienced different kinds of tasks including speech writing, negotiation, policy making, etc. During the time I was in service, we accomplished distinguished progress such as Sister City agreement with Menlo Park, America, Furusato Nozei, Home town tax donation ranked No.5 throughout Japan and Free distribution of tablet to whole middle school students in our city, and so on. Not gonna lie, these 3 years must be the greatest time for the city in the past five decades, and myself as well. The time was really tough for me but on the contrary, I enjoyed it, having had so much stimulation from the mayor who own a private company that has highest market share in their field. I learned from him a lot about leadership skill and decision making skill which was especially impressed and I fully understand the importance of prompt action at the right timing and the right place. I was mostly a player but at the same, as a manager of the section, I led my team to not only achieve the goal but also make efforts to develop human resources. Show less

    • Staff, Planning Section
      • Apr 2008 - Mar 2014

One of my highlights of this post is that I organised the city’s strategic plan to tackle population decrease, attracting people outside to settle in our city by setting an ambitious goal focused on education. This idea is not rare nowadays but at that time it was quite rare and no other local authorities didn't care at all until the national government under Abe regime spoke up loudly for 'Education Reform.' I used a marketing-based approach, analysed demographic trends and created an assumption that many parents decide the area where they live based on the school. As we were early birds, many companies were interested in our city and we could have opportunities to work together with major IT companies to bring about drastic changes in educational methods.
