This task is particularly exciting, challenging and motivating considering the fact that it enables me to be a part of the global efforts that aim to create a more effective policy and partnership agenda in the implementation of the outcomes of the Rio+20 Conference in the next couple of decades, the success of which will define the survival of humanity and global ecosystems within the Earth´s planetary boundaries for current and future generations.While I am still involved in the global climate negotiations through my support in the work Bonn Center for Local Climate Actin and Reporting - carbonn and World Mayors Council on Climate Change, I am now more actively involved in the work of the UN (e.g. Sustainable Development Goals, High level Political Forum etc), Intergovernmental Organizations (e.g. UNEP, UN-Habitat etc), Multilateral Environmental Agreements (e.g. Rio Conventions UNFCCC-CBD-UNCCD) to enhance recognition, engagement and empowerment of local and subnational governments as governmental stakeholders in the post2015 development agenda.
