Matthew Hutchens
Katherine was a student in my business taxation class at the University of Illinois. She was an exceptional student and a very hard worker who was able to grasp technical tax topics in a short amount of time. I highly recommend her.

Katherine is one of the most dedicated students I have taught. I had the pleasure of getting to know Katherine over the past academic year as her instructor in her graduate program taxation course at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Katherine was dedicated to her studies at worked throughout the semester to consistently increase her knowledge and improve her performance. When she was initially not accepted into a very competitive Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for the spring semester, she took the initiative to contact me to inquire as to any later openings. When an opening became available, Katherine's hard work, pleasant demeanor, and willingness to take that extra measure to ensure her success gave her the edge against many other well qualified candidates and she was selected for the program. In the VITA program, Katherine was a key part of the team and worked well with her teammates and also independently with little need for guidance from faculty to complete tax returns for taxpayers in the community. Katherine will be an asset to any team!
