I have worked closely with Yoo-Chul for a long time though at different companies, where, as an analyst (at Oppenheimer and Barclays) and semiconductor industry participant I have been published in Investor Business Daily (first page mention), Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal (Asia), many M&A focused publications and have been interviewed by Reuters TV and CNBC . He is simply the best journalist and expert commenter with insight I have come across. He has worked covering widely different areas such as technology, law, and politics not only with a Korea focus but a world-wide range of focus and his excellent language skills in English, Japanese and Korean with full proficiency help him interview people as well as keep up with the news and give intelligent comments on the issues. He has a humble, friendly and pleasant manner which is an asset in all fields of journalism. Simply summarizing his qualities I would say that he has great insight on issues, their complete market impact, in-depth sourcing and analysis, a deeply investigative mind and excellent organizational skills. Additionally, I would say that he is outgoing, extroverted, aggressive and detail-focused in pursuing news stories and scoops , has an investigative mind and is ready to run and learn. He loves to meet people, constantly networking and therefore has a big multinational network and can talk with depth on any intriguing ideas and topics. Meanwhile, he completely respects confidentiality and off the record conversations and protects his sources zealously. Yoochul's work has appeared and quoted in leading publications such as WSJ, Bloomberg, Guardian, CNBC, CNN and Reuters, etc. He is a 12 times winner of the publication's scoop awards including "Baeksang Journalism Awards" three times. He also been sought and delivered need-based freelancing for publications requested by Samsung and LG Group of technology chaebol affiliates on technology trend. Finally, he was the technology and finance team leader and is now the desk editor for politics. He has a Masters degree in Journalism from the No. 1 rated Medill school of Journalism at Northwestern Univ. Hence, it has been a pleasure and privelege to write a recommendation for Yoochul. Simply, I am summarizing his accomplishments and qualities and telling the truth about an extremely resourceful journalist.

Yoochul is a good decent journalist with full of professionalism about any tasks he is handling. His feature stories on the Apple-Samsung litigation issues which are very complicated for the Korea Times were excellent. I had good time to work with him as he interviewed me for one of his excellent pieces. He understood the core meanings of a complex area of intellectual property law. I am pleased to recommend Yoochul for any positions as based on his investigative minds in issues, it seems evident that he is a great team player and good leader.
