Research Assistant at a Molecular Biology Lab Aim of the research was to attempt to produce D-allulose from C. glutamicum using the enzyme DAE from E. coli. • Successfully constructed recombinant plasmid with DAE from E. coli. • Transformed the recombinant plasmid using heat shock transformation and electroporation into different bacterial cells for the production of a rare functional sugar, D-allulose. • Planned and performed experiments which included culturing of bacteria cells, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, plasmid isolation, molecular cloning, DNA extraction and purification. • Performed daily lab duties, and familiar with making basic broths and agars and basic lab machines such as centrifuge, autoclave, gel doc, HPLC, nanodrop etc.
