• I have completed 2 years in my current IT role, 52 % is spent on Database Administration, and 48% IT Administration including SQL query writing, Web, Server and Network administration. Database Administration: Axapta Dynamics 2009; There are two major areas covered with the DBA side. Firstly, training end users on all functions of Axapta 2009, . This also covers areas of business processes, reporting tools, extracting data and data analysis. Secondly,Customisation of Axapta to suit business needs. This includes working in the AOT, EDTs, tables, forms and reports to make adjustments, additions and changes to improve and access of data more efficient from a more technical approach. IT Administration: 55% of IT administration is help desk requests. A large number of these would be for Microsoft Office 2010 software training covering, MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook. Issues can range from basic to advanced training of the software through to data analysis and reporting outputs and solving any issues created. SQL queries and excel reports have simplified and improved data extraction for reporting purposes and also isolated specific information only required for the user and purpose. Business solution projects are initiated to provide senior level management recommendations on what Axapta/Database information can do to improve business requirements. Other tasks of IT Administration also covers Active Directory, hardware issues, running back ups , recovering files, VPN connections , Network monitoring and issues, routers ,MS exchange, FTP site , web design and phones. We have 4 physical and 8 virtual servers that are monitored and maintained, including monthly WSUS updates. ERP Business Solutions- This area requires me to propose and recommend new process ideas using current software to implement improvements to achieve different targets for the business. Most of my projects are driven from requests and requirements from senior management or self-recommended.

The main company target was to reduce costs out of our product without compromising quality. We reduced stock levels and company expenses by focusing on supplier selection and also extending procurement to offshore suppliers. Developed training metrics for the group and frequent performance reviews with all staff. The team now collaborate with others to solve issues from; Sales market information to customer feedback from receiving the product, hold meetings themselves and present results, key to the business. Knowledge I had gained over 5 years became a key contribution on the senior management team including input to company targets, measures and risk analysis to meet the current marketplace which helped develop the strategic 5 year plan. During this period the company upgraded the ERP system from Ax 3.0 to Ax 2009 where my skills and experience contributed towards technical structure and design requirements and championed user acceptance testing and documentation.
