Kids Yoga for Special Needs
-
Jan 2020 - Present
I specialize in applying the different yoga tools to create a program for kids with autism and special needs that may help them in their motor skills, cognitive, language, and social-emotional skills. I conduct a purely one-on-one class as each child will have different set of needs and conditions. The program is created based on assessment on the child's developmental stage, doctor's referral and medical diagnosis, and the parents' goals. My primary goal as a yoga teacher is for the child to learn self-regulation by giving yoga tools to regulate the nervous system, improve motor skills, coordination, and concentration, and develop awareness of big emotions that kids would typically experience. As a form of therapy, yoga benefits the child not just in movement but to learn to be happy, confident, and calm. Show less
