Bio
Loren Dalton
I've known Tom Yip for a number of years. For quite a while, I was the President of the Northern California PennySaver and Tom was one of our consistently top performing sellers. Tom did a great job of developing relationships with customers and then, investing the time to find ways to grow that account to where we were maximizing our returns from the customer, while helping them grow their business in the best possible way. He generally had very strong retention of his accounts compared to his peers because of the great job he did in building relationships. He was careful to not sell his customers something that he wasn't 100% committed to being the best thing for them. His customers knew that he was always looking out for them first and foremost and this was why he had such loyalty from them. Later on, I had the opportunity to watch Tom work (and work with him) when I was serving as the President of PennySaverUSA.com. Tom did a great job of taking our internet products and seeing which of those products would be beneficial to his clients. He was, once again, very diligent in testing products out before he told his customers that these were the right products for them. But, he also knew that by taking advantage of the right things we had to offer, he would be able to help his customers reach a different group of potential customers for them (separate from those who read our publication). A company or sales leader would do well to not pass judgement too quickly on Tom Yip when evaluating what he can bring to the table. He can easily come across as too soft-spoken to be a good seller. But, what you would be missing in that evaluation is the fire that burns within him. When it comes to sales growth, he is one of those sellers who "speaks softly", but carries a big stick"! I would bet ALL DAY LONG on Tom and his ability. He grows business the RIGHT WAY...by doing what is best for his customer!!
