It was a pleasure to work with yingcheng ZAN when he was doing his internship at CAREN lab from Feb to Jun 2020. I usually select a few highly motivated and skilful engineering students to work with me in our unique and the only facility of its kind on human performance (i.e. CAREN) in Australia. He presented a great deal of resilience while he had to go through different countries to return to Australia and start his internship with us. He helped me in developing computational models of human performance in timely manner and always was present for new challenges. I was impressed that he could learn new techniques, and find new ways to resolve problems and preset them to the team. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours and I believe he could be a great asset to any team he joins. I highly recommend him for engineering positions.

As a Lab Intern, I have developed computational models of human performance (biomechanical models) and analysed human gait data collected from Inertial sensors through MATLAB. I also wrote users instructions for MATLAB graphical user interface and relevant codes, and coordinated Human Gait Data Collection in CAREN Laboratory including facilitating system calibration and troubleshooting. During my tenure, I was able to create and develop a graphical user interface using MATLAB which can be used as a basic tool for human movement data analysis. I also delivered tasks on-time, within quality standards and in adherence with organisational policies.

This project was to design the mechanism and an embedded system for a new seeding machine. During this project, the team published two team patents (CN108093779A, CN206977996U) in China. I enhanced data collection and report writing skills through modifying the two patents, developed a microcontroller program using C to calculate the number of seeds that are sown by the seeding machine, and assisted in the mechanism and optimal design of the machine through using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
