  I was in a project of a 6 person student team leading a project on local scale air quality issues in and around the Barbican area of London. This project involved collecting and analyzing air quality data, creating interactive maps and effectively communicating with local residents of the area who aided the project. A weekly progress meeting met with Mapping for Change staff and University College London researchers. The team was able to offer a consulting role on the air quality issues to residents, producing a detailed technical report on where and why pollutants were present, and how air quality differed in the area. Simple solutions were offered as part of the report in attempts to improve local scale air quality. Show less
