Samuel Lee
Mr. Hu has been my fellow colleague in the Exams Committee and as well in the Math and Science Department. As a high school math teacher, he is witnessed to be a competent math teacher that is capable of teaching several high school programmes, namely the IBDP, A level (CIE)[Both pure math & further math], A level (H2 Singapore) and even STEP programme. During his time at DSI, Mr. Hu helped many students gained entry into mathematics and engineering courses in top universities. Mr. Hu is not all just about classroom teaching, as a school teacher he is also deeply concern in the affective development of our students. He is willing to give extra time for students, listen to their needs and provide good advice for their overall well-being. Being a subject teacher of his formth class (in AY2017/2018), he is always open to my suggestions and feedback and follow-up with our students accordingly. Mr. Hu also contributes actively as a member of the Exam Committee, he was elected in AY2017/2018 to be the Chief Presiding Examiner (CPE) and conducted his reponsibilites excellently running the school's internal and external examinations for both the Cambridge Assessment and International Examinations (CAIE) and the International Bacculeurreate Diploma Programme (IBDP). As a fellow senior teacher in the teaching faculty, I observed that he readily helps the junior teachers and give advice to them in their classroom practice. He is able to display team-work and show very strong leadership skills during which can clearly be seen in the Exam Committee and in the Mathematics department. It is an honour for me to work side-by-side with Mr. Hu and I had learnt a lot from him professionally and personally.
