  HAN Automotive TTL&B (ESCBO Siemens) In a team we built an electric car that participated in the first ESCBO project. Initiator Siemens Netherlands asked seven teams from colleges and business partners to build, in competitive, electric sports cars. The four colleges and three business partners that battle for the best electric sports car are: Hogeschool Rotterdam, Hogeschool Arnhem / Nijmegen, The Hague University (Delft), Fontys (Eindhoven), Actemium (Veghel), Croon (Rotterdam) and WP Haton (voltages). With ESCBO Siemens wants to show that working with electric components is fun and challenging. The general task was to create a sound for this vehicle imitating that it has a combustion engine. The version I worked on is the first version. Since the vehicles propulsion is electric it makes no sound, this is why a sound box will be used to assimilate different sounds depending on the speed and acceleration of the car. The driver of the vehicle has option of choosing from a range of sounds (five) that best fits him/her, the choice can be made on the multi-information display located on the steering wheel. Within this project I had to to find out how to in complement these sounds into the vehicle without taking away the looks and functionality of the car. Furthermore I was asked to help with making sure this car drove, which it fortunately did! We drove on the airstrip of Valkenburg and we joind the City Racing in Rotterdam. Show less
