  During the program, I worked with tax payers to help them file their tax returns using a provided web based tax filing program called Taxwise. Many times I encountered confusions and had to resolve questions such as missing documents or uncertain information regarding taxpayers’ qualification for certain tax credits by working closely with my site supervisor and the taxpayers. When I was assigned to do quality reviews for my peers, I had the chance to examine potential errors and to ensure that required information were obtained properly and entered. The VITA program gave me some valuable experience in both tax accounting and customer services. Show less
