  We were trained and instructed to make cold calls to the University of Portsmouth alumni to fundraise for different grants and bursaries for the university. I learned a lot on communication, followed a script and negotiate by trading up or down with the alumni for donations. Resilience when being told no and the confidence to negotiate with strangers.
