The scope was as follows: 1. I assisted the Product Manager and his team with product development activities. I was closely involved in product development phases, such as idea generation, concept generation, product designing, prototyping, testing and manufacturing. Hence, I developed a deep understanding of each phase. 2. I participated in new project developments and was a part of the product and developer team for Igloohome products. I understood the technicalities and the complexities involved in the designing of current products. I identified problems and solutions and hence, implemented them in new projects. 3. I conducted market research to understand the latest industry trends and demands of the target market. Hence, I developed deep product knowledge of smart locks and access system. 4. I worked closely with other teams to understand requirements of the products. I conducted customer support operations and on-site service runs.

Key Achievements:1. I successfully demo-ed the use of a simulation software that could simulate paper flow through a printer. I displayed how by changing different parameters, we can understand paper flow. This software could help reduce the number of physical prototypes that would be needed to test different scenarios, thus reducing the product cycle time from ideation to launch. 2. I was selected to be featured in the HP Innovation Journal to highlight a few outstanding HP Interns. 3. I also got featured in the HP Daily because I made it to the top 7 finalists among HP Interns and fresh graduates from across the world to take part in a two-week HP Insiders Social Media Challenge. 4. I also played basketball at the HP Basketball Tournament 2018, and we were the 1st Runners Up. The scope of the project which I was working on included:1. Understand the current printer mechanism and parts that drive around the printers2. Work with current freeware available online such as Linkage, PHUN etc. and explore how to apply these software in mechanical design.3. Translate the current printer mechanical parts into simple 2D representation. 4. Provide useful measurement data such as motion (i.e. speed, acceleration, motion profile), kinematic, force, torque when these mechanisms are in motion/simulated in motion.5. Work with true hardware changes and correlate how the 2D or modular changes can be an accurate representation or estimation from the real-life model.6. Look at some current product mechanism, look out for mechanism flexibility in changes and modular of changes that are adaptive to our printer needs.The learning outcomes were: 1. Ability to make mechanism design to be modular2. Ability to incorporate an automated process so that quick and ease of use to modularize the changes 3. Reduce the time to mature mechanical design 5. Understand the limitation or constraints on modular change of mechanism design

Key Achievement: Team Pluto was one among the 5 teams out of 29 teams to be awarded the Merit Prize, with a trophy and prize money, in the Space System Category. The prize was awarded by Guest-of-Honour, Ms. Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Ministry of Education (MoE) on 2nd February, 2018 at Sheraton Towers Singapore. Details:The Singapore Space Challenge (SSC) is an annual national design competition that challenges student teams to design realistic space-related, high-technology complex projects. It is organized by the Singapore Space & Technology Association.This project was also a part of the course EG2311-Introduction to Space Systems. I was the Team leader of Team Pluto which had 5 members. The mission challenge was to come up with a concept to dock /link up at least 3 cube satellites while in orbit. Some specification of the mission were:1. All linking up must be completed in a reasonable timeframe.2. Pre-capture approach, and mechanisms for synchronization of speed between the CubeSats3. Identify and lists the limitations of their design4. Potential applications for their design

I was a part of the group of 25 scholars selected worldwide to represent the National Society of High School Scholars at the Stockholm Annual Nobel Week, 2016 held in Stockholm from 7th December to 10th December 2016. We attended the Nobel Lectures, 2016 which was a day-long event in which the Nobel Laureates in Physics, Chemistry and Economic Sciences, 2016 gave open lectures about their research and contributions or discovery which led them to win the Nobel Prize. We also attended the Nobel Week Dialogue the topic of which was "Your Plate, Our Planet: The Food for the Future." This full-day event aimed to stimulate discussion on a topical-science related theme by bringing together Nobel Laureates, the world's leading scientists and experts, key opinion leaders, policymakers and the general public. Here, I met and interacted with Sir Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize recipient for finding the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh.
