  I have embarked on a project entailing finding and testing novel markers for Malaria Diagnosis. This project is to involve epitopic peptide predictions from various plasmodium secretome proteins. The proteins essential for the survival and growth of the parasite are to be shortlisted and their antigenic determinants will be predicted and synthesized. The epitopes are to be screened against a phage library with antibody variability. The positive leads are to be tested on clinical samples and translated into a lateral flow test i.e. rapid diagnostic testing technology.
