The National Model United Nations Associations (NMUNA), is the first MUN conference held in Iraq, organized and sponsored by Soran University, University of Central Florida, and the US Department of State. The conference brought together 100 young delegates, including myself, from different parts of Iraq to simulate UN meetings and discussions on current global issues and challenges. As a delegate in the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), I participated in discussions and negotiations on the topic of empowering women in developing countries. My fellow delegates and I proposed various solutions to address the issue, including increasing access to education, creating job opportunities, and promoting women's political participation. Through these discussions, I developed my negotiation and leadership skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges women face in developing countries. In addition, we also had the opportunity to attend a panel discussion featuring esteemed professionals in the field of international relations and diplomacy. The panel included professors from the University of Central Florida, Head of the Political Team in UNAMI, and the US Ambassador in Iraq, Mr. Mathew Tuller. The panel discussion provided valuable insights and perspectives on current global issues and challenges. Throughout the conference, we participated in a variety of events, committee meetings, and workshops. These activities provided a platform to showcase my analytical and critical thinking skills, while also learning from my fellow delegates' perspectives and experiences. Additionally the conference provided me with a valuable opportunity to network with other professionals in the field of international relations and diplomacy. Overall, my participation in NMUNA enhanced my understanding of global issues, developed my skills in diplomacy and leadership, and reinforced my commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
