I put into operation a Waters 600 HPLC (change tubing, prime the pumps) The lab is accessible to everyone who want to start a biological project. I help and train people to start their own project, providing technical support and scientific advice. I join an exciting project aimed to provide a low cost production protocol for Insulin. I'm currently working on a refolding strategy to purify this protein. My project was to study the membrane protein BmrA with the nanodiscs methods. I was responsible of: - Over-expression of membrane protein in bacteria or cell-free (hAAC1) and soluble protein (MSP1, MSP1ED1) - Development of membrane protein purification (BmrA, YedZ) - Reconstitution of membrane protein in nanodiscs (hAAC1, BmrA, BmrCD, YedZ, PopB, FhuA, 5HT3a, spNOX) - Characterization of the nanodiscs (size-exclusion chromatography) - Activity test (ATPase activity with BmrA) - Electron microscopy and cryo-EM (in collaboration) (BmrA, PopB)
