The role involves management of natural areas under council care and control as well as seeking opportunities and partnership in the revegetation of wildlife corridors throughout the local government area, development of the green and blue grid and increasing canopy cover to mitigate urban heat and improve livability. Review of ecological reports such as BAR, BDAR, REF and SoEE and providing advice on planning proposals and council's infrastructure projects, development of an environmental assessment process for council's internal operations.
