  A special in-house live broadcast event by the Friends of Vega. Friends created a narrated sequence overlaid with animations and real-time deletion of Vega Collectives online material across all their social media platforms. Friends wanted to represent a renewal of Vega Collectives mission, enabling them to broaden their online reach with this event.

  The Friends of Vega were approached to provide a performance for Gardens and Open Spaces (GOSH) campaign working in partnership with Timebank Hull and East Riding. The campaign set out to ask the public the question 'What If...' rekindling imagination to consider alternatives. Pirates on the search of Etheria 1312 emerged on the day of the campaign to pose the circumstances of an alternative world that could help the residents of Hull with the future they will surely face.   The first preview of a game developed to catalogue and explore the dynamic world of Vega within an interactive platform. It was first performed online using a narrator to guide audiences through the choices available, which offers the Friends of Vega a chance to record and expand the game mechanics via the contributions and input from others.   The popular Mammal Jam event at Ground invited the Friends of Vega for a performance. Friends provided an incarnation of Vega through the eyes of the Yellow Ties - Yellow Inc.'s bureaucratic envoys for the ship and its mission - yet, puzzlingly they did not know what this might mean. Yellow Ties provided the audience with questionnaires, answers to which fed through a machine for a video to react to the audiences responses.   The Friends of Vega were commissioned by Timebank Hull and East Riding to encourage, promote and invite the local community the Timebanks newly refurbished community centre in Marfleet. Through conversations with our partners, Sir. Maj. Franklin Bombus and his Merry Expedition set out to converse with the local neighbourhood the advantages of discovery. Enquiring on the communities thoughts towards alternatives - such as Timebanking - to actively build stronger communities together. Bombus and his Merry Expedition shared the answers from the community during a community feast. After which they launched their findings into the sky using a makeshift rocket. Show less

  Ground invited the Friends of Vega to perform for a popular annual event Mammal Jam. Friends devised a performance about becoming using the enigmatic M.R.U. (or as it is colloquially known as - Mr. Universalist) as the vessel to relay the offsetting of mental illness through a disparated self and the subsequent overcoming of difficulties.   The work that premiered at this event utilised a multi-sensory black-out box whereby audiences enter and interact with hidden Friends of Vega, who acted as the manifestations of the Entropy Beast. Audiences, who were unknowingly perceived as Vega by the Friends, were asked to remember themselves. Sharing elements of each other’s worlds to produce a dynamic piece of interaction. Framing the conversation within a pretend context of Vega’s discussion with the Entropy Beast.
