Bio
Mitchell Lagran
Although I didn’t get as long to work with Yan as I’d have liked, during my time working with him I came away impressed by his drive and attitude. He always brought an enthusiasm and passion to his work, and I found his openness and ability to take in and act on feedback very impressive. Yan is also a great proponent for the player, trying to think through his levels from a player’s perspective and using his understanding of player psychology and behaviour to ensure a great experience. Finally, I think its worth remarking on that Yan has a strong drive towards self-improvement that I found inspiring. He was constantly seeking ways to improve his skills and how he worked, which will surely make him a great asset in the long-term to any team he joins.
Jean-François Caissie
Yan acted as a mentor towards me on my first ever level design mandate. We were both part of a strong-as-hell 4-man level design team producing an explosive number of benchmark maps for Far Cry Arcade. I found in him someone who is extremely passionate and cares for the wellbeing of his teammates. He never hesitates to fight for what he believes is the best for a project, but also knows when to hold back and let his work do the talk. He's extremely versatile, casually speaking about anything on the spectrum of creativity and technicality. The hardships we went through during our time working together created a strong bond that we still share to this day. He is a loyal friend to those who know the meaning of respect.
