I am supporting the global Girls Lead Programme, operating in 7 different countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America aimed at strengthening girls, young women and youth-led organisations that advocate for political and civil participation and influencing as well as gender equality. My responsibilities include communications (designing and writing the Girls Lead newsletter and other communication and presentation materials e.g. for sponsorship communication and marketing), the administration of the Girls Lead Innovation and Learning Fund (reviewing proposals and assisting throughout the application/funding process), programme management support (e.g. translations, knowledge management, preparations and minutes for calls and presentations) and monitoring and evaluation support e.g. in preparing the midterm evaluation. Assocation SIDRA is a local Algerian youth NGO aimed at strengthening youth organisations and the Algerian civil society. During my internship, I supported the conception of an educational project for children living in the Algerian Sahara, worked on online communication strategies for different programme components and helped set-up a new coworking space for youth associations in Algiers. After my successful internship, I continued to support the Global Leadership Academy (GLAC) at GIZ with the project management for an international dialogic leadership lab, the Impact Lab with alumni of the programme. My responsibilities further included monitoring and evaluation, as I evaluated two dialogic leadership labs (WE-Africa Lab and Transforming Leadership Lab) and conducted a research study on the future of international cooperation among the GLAC Community.

My responsibilities at the Global Leadership Academy (GLAC) were centred around communications, community management, and storytelling. As such, I was in charge of the programme's social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube) and website (Typo3) as well as their development. Further, I worked on other communication processes, such as the creation of booklets, concepts for a communication strategy and the newsletter, as well as the conception and editing of impact stories.Regarding the community management, I supported the establishment of an alumni network consisting of 600 alumni by conceptualising alumni formats, e.g. the Impact Lab, a community platform on the website or managing e-mail dispatches and database maintenance using cobra CRM pro.
