As a consultant I assist in the return to work of those injured in the workplace. This involves intensive case management and liaising with insurers, employers, workers and treating parties. I provide vocational assessments to identify work history, qualifications, transferrable skills as well as other potential employment options and initial assessments for workers still in employment to identify appropriate duties. Other duties include attending regular case conferences, updating all relevant parties on the progress in order to best assist the worker in my care to return to employment in a timely fashion.

I am a provisionally registered psychologist currently undertaking a supervision program as an intern at Learning Links, overseen by a supervisor who is guiding me to complete my registration as a psychologist. Currently in the supervision program I am provided with opportunities for training and development in mental health care skills, which include administering a variety mental health assessments such as the WISC-IV, WIPPSI-IV, WIAT-IV which I am already trained in and will be receiving training in administration of the NEO, PAI and CMS among others over the course of the internship. I am also responsible for creating treatment plans for clients for a variety of presenting problems primarily for school age children and their families. At learning links I am part of a multidisciplinary team and as such have needed to communicate and work collaboratively with other professionals to provide the best care for my clients. I have previously provided services such as the implementation of a ten week CBT-based treatments for anxiety, social skills and anger management for our clients. I have also completed psychometric testing (WISC-IV) literacy testing and continue to expand my knowledge while being given opportunities for experience with learning links.
