Meena completed her winter 2020 co-op work term in the Market Regulation branch of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). I served as Meena’s mentor and informal supervisor during her time at the OSC. Meena proved to be a diligent and detail-oriented worker. She was efficient and polite, displaying a great attitude, true passion for learning, and good work ethic. She synthesized some very technical issues into presentations to the branch that were helpful, interesting, and even entertaining.

I supervised Meena in her position as Public Interest Law Student with the Bella Coola Legal Advocacy Program during the summer of 2018. She provided legal advocacy and public legal education activities to the remote and primarily Indigenous communities of Bella Coola, Bella Bella, and Klemtu. Meena brought an intelligent and innovative legal presence to the BCLAP. Meena always strove for greater understanding of colonization and the reality of colonial law as per Indigenous people. She was very conscious of the importance of relationship building and trust to the successful provision of legal services in these communities. I strongly support Meena's future endeavours as I know she will be a fierce and compassionate advocate for those she serves.
