I had the pleasure of having Wendy (Xiaoying) on my team at Sortable as a technical product manager. From the first moment I joined and began working with her I was impressed, and over time she proved to be one of the most motivated, capable, organised, and a passionate professionals I have come across who consistently exceeded all expectations. She very quickly learnt the technology, the products, and the Industry Sortable was operating in and was able to work with multiple team leads on multiple projects to define the work each Sprint, generate and keep to the roadmaps agreed upon, and to get the work delivered on time and with quality. With her friendly and open demeanour she was able to bridge the gap and facilitate conversations and communication with external business stakeholders, customer success teams, as well as internally with the rest of the Engineering development teams, acting not only as TPM but as the Scrum Master each Sprint. I look forward to and welcome the day we can work together again. I would trust her to become an effective product manager in any industry and I recommend Wendy to any company looking to hire top talent.

I was the hiring manager who helped to bring Xiaoying (also known as Wendy) into Sortable as a Technical Product Manager. She performed so well in the interview that we decided to offer her the role even though at that time we were looking for someone with more experience. She was an instant success, as we hoped, performing excellently. Under the guidance of our senior product manager she got to work organizing and prioritizing the backlog by integrating short term requirements with the longer term vision. She very quickly gained knowledge of the product so that she could shield the developers from fielding questions allowing them to focus on what they do best. She was respected by her development team and popular with the developers due to her friendly and approachable manner. She was quick to get things done and had high bandwidth. At a startup you are often expected to wear many hats so although she would not claim to be a project manager she used her excellent organizational skills to help out with roadmaps and milestones when asked. If you are looking for a product manager I have no hesitation in recommending her. I would happily work with Xiaoying again.
