Edmund Rice Camps for Kids WA Inc (ERCKWA) is a non-profit community based organisation that serves the needs of WA 'at risk' or disadvantaged children aged 7–16 and their families (families who would not otherwise have such opportunities). We achieve this via a variety of developmentally-focussed recreational and educational respite programs, including camps. ERCKWA also fosters the ongoing personal development of young adult volunteer leaders who act as friends and mentors to the children in our care. The Manager Community Engagement role at Edmund Rice Camps for Kids is responsible for the engagement with community groups such as carers, departments and children that ERCKWA provide respite for. The MCE role is filled in a part-time capacity and also is the secretary of the Identity Formation Committee (ERIF) which is a group made up of very experienced leaders and past volunteers whom typically filled coaching and/or pastoral care focussed roles on programs. This group critically analyses matters pertaining to child protection, pastoral care / wellness of volunteers, coaching best practise and behaviour management frameworks.
