In this role, I assisted in the care and exercise of up to 20 horses on a large private and professional livery yard. I have worked both in a team and unsupervised to ensure the welfare of all the horses. This job involved driving a variety of farm vehicles including a 4x4 buggy and a quad + trailer combo. From time to time I had to liaise with farriers, vets and other equine professionals on behalf of the business. My responsibilities also included administration of appropriate nutrition and medicines, and other related duties, and site security as well as routine day to day tasks.

I was responsible for caring for up to 8 horses at a time on a private yard. When the owners went away on extended trips, I was jointly responsible for all duties on the yard to ensure everything was kept in order and all horses were exercised, fed and managed. I was largely required to follow a set of specific instructions in order to complete all tasks. From time to time I was also responsible for babysitting and taking the owner's young children out for rides. I was responsible for caring for up to 8 horses at a time on a private yard. • Deli Assistant
      • Sep 2014 - Dec 2018

During my time at Lots of Lemons I developed many useful skills and gained valuable experience. Being a small family owned business and a customer-facing role, my job enabled me to learn to deal with members of the public in a friendly and professional manner, both face to face and over the telephone. I was responsible for greeting and serving customers in a friendly manner and handling money/cashless transactions, as well as ensuring the shelves were kept well stocked and items priced. I learned new skills in food handling, preparation and cooking (ensuring deli items were appropriately displayed in the fridges, sandwich making, cake and pastry baking) and I learned the importance and specific practices of good workplace hygiene and health and safety (wearing gloves, cleaning of food preparation surfaces, use of appropriate food preparation equipment and cleaning of kitchen machinery). Other responsibilities included stocktaking, preparing ingredients for baking, helping at local events, delivering lunches, cleaning, washing and drying, and opening up/locking up the shop.
