Bio
Joel Weierman
I had the opportunity to work closely with Wyatt on a critical performance issue for a Customer. Wyatt is one of the few Engineers that I've ever worked with who unprompted asked me when my next meeting with the Customer was and then proceeded to write a troubleshooting utility to help get more data in the status of the issue. I also had several conversations with him re: general Product issues and he always impressed me with his depth and knowledge of the issues and constrains and challenges involved. From a number of different interactions I could quickly tell that he has an incredibly strong work ethic and is very passionate about the problems he is working on to solve. I will miss working with Wyatt at Puppet but looking forward to watching his career develop as he starts his next opportunity.

Wyatt is an exceptional engineer. He's a natural. He is incredibly sharp and can dive into any part of the tech stack and ramp up very quickly, to the point where he often becomes a subject matter expert even relative to his more experienced peers. He's also really proactive about helping users - he's often the first person to respond to a question posted by open source user in one of our public chat forums, and he does a great job of asking the right questions to help the users troubleshoot their issues. Wyatt never hesitates to roll up his sleeves and do the dirty work in the interest of keeping team goals and deliverables on track. That is a trait that isn't always prevalent for engineers who also possess his technical strengths, and the combination of the two makes him an extremely valuable member of any team lucky enough to have him.
