Responsible for actualizing a Regional Presence, Arts Season, LSSU Theatre Season, University Service, and Innovation of the Arts Center at Lake Superior State University. This is accomplished through the following: Acting as the main point of contact for the venue use and event information, communicating effectively with internal and external customers. Provide seamless technical support and excellent customer service creating an overall exceptional experience. Assist Arts Center Director in identifying, vetting, and coordinating with other presenters in the region to create a dynamic calendar of performing arts experiences. Execute all production and technical aspects of all activities, including liaison with visiting artists and performers. Assist in maintaining positive working relationships and close communication among internal and external partners. In addition, responsibilities include the following: Ensure the security and safety of the building and those within. Coordinate with the building custodian, Physical Plant, Public Safety, and others. Monitor and maintain the building and performance spaces, including the equipment. Recommend repairs and improvements, including purchases of new technical equipment. Monitor and maintain inventory levels for all soft goods. Oversee design and construction spaces, including the scene shop and tools/equipment within. Participate in tech rehearsals, load-ins, and all other functions relevant to the run of an event. Generate new partnerships with local entities that invite opportunity for more use of the facility and revenue generation, including with Canadian arts partners. Assist in communicating policies concerning the Arts Center to the campus community. Train and manage all technical staff of the Arts Center, including student workforce and volunteers.

Technical Manager

Coordinates all technical aspects of events at the Arts Center, including: academic theatrical productions, workshops, band and choir concerts, movies, guest speakers, dance concerts, campus orientations, educational production tours, community events, various graduation ceremonies and other university sponsored events. Collaborates with other Arts Center staff members to assure that facilities are open and available for events, that space is supervised and secured as appropriate. Manages and trains student workers in a range of Arts Center production roles.
