  Responsible for the second and third line operational management/problem-solving of 15 wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) (2.000-50.000 PE) in Belgium. Consulting activities for the financial and technological optimisation of these plants. Responsible for training and educating operational personnel (operators, team leaders, area managers). Technical design, modelling of investment and operational cost of wastewater treatment projects (new as well as renovations) in Flanders. Hands-on experience with full-scale membrane bioreactors (MBRs) for wastewater treatment: plant start-up, optimisation of treatment results, optimisation of filtration performance and decreasing energy consumption. Project manager, workpackage coordinator and work area leader in European STREP project on membrane bioreactors ("AMEDEUS"). Responsible for project definition and involved in contract negotations. Involved in obtaining EU funds for the company in this project. Responsible for the budget management of this project within the company. Responsible for European market analysis and assessment of technical potential to achieve MBR technology standardisation. Responsible for technological and financial assessment of innovative hybrid MBR concept. Responsible for all dissemination activities. IP protection activities: first author of patent application. Responsible for developing and supervising a multi platform research project on the 1st full-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) for urban wastewater treatment in the Benelux (WWTP Schilde) Show less
