      As biotechnician in the Biomedical MR Imaging & Spectroscopy Group i performed surgeries to induce stroke in multiple models i.e. - MCAo (middle cerebral artery occlusion) in rats and mice using a intraluminal thread to occlude the artery. - The thrombotic occlusion model in rats, where a blood clot is injected. - Thrombo-embolic occlusion in mice, where thrombin is injected directly in the MCA. - Electro-coagulation of the MCA in mice, in which the MCA is occluded using bipolar diathermy - Photothrombotic model in rats. In which light sensitive Bengal Rose is injected. Subsequently when a specific part of the skull is iluminated, Bengal Rose forms a thrombus. I acquainted myself with other techniques for example - Subarachnoid hemorrhage in rats, where you puncture the MCA. - Cerebral aneurysms in rats, bilateral ligation of posterior renal and left common carotid artery to induce hypertension. More basic techniques: intubation for mechanical ventilation, cannulation of the tail vein and catheterization of the femoral artery in rats Behavioral tests: cylinder, beam walk, NDS (neurological deficiency scale), open field, corner turn, adhesive removal test.       With a intratracheal injection i have injected a mixture of technetium and small cell lung cancer cells. Using SPECT-CT the injection site was confirmed, after which the growth was monitored using IVIS and CT.
